We are excited to announce that the first installment in our public education series is now available on YouTube. This 10-minute film was edited by our placement student, Gabriele Russell, in spring 2026, using footage from our collaboration with the WAGE research project shot in 2024. The footage features interviews with dancers speaking about various aspects of their work and personal lives.

This is the first in a small series of short films, which we are releasing over the next couple of weeks. We intend these films to be educational, so educators, for example at colleges and universities, are welcome to show these films to their classes so students can see dancers speaking for themselves.

In this first film, Life of a Dancer, strippers talk about how clubs work, including how being an independent contractor works, and dancers’ relationships with management and with each other.
